Rajasthan News: Centre Approves ₹1,154.47 Crore for Development of 27 Roads in Rajasthan

Rajasthan News: In a significant development for Rajasthan, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹1,154.47 crore for the improvement of 27 roads across the state. This funding will be utilized to develop 748.80 kilometers of roads, strengthening the state's infrastructure. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for the approval.

Key Projects Under the Approval

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has allocated funds under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and Setu Bandhan Yojana. The projects include:

  • Widening and strengthening of roads spanning 748.80 km.
  • Construction of a high-level bridge over the Kalisindh River in Kota.
  • ₹30 crore allocation for a railway underbridge in Sriganganagar.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari had previously met with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss these developments, resulting in the funding approval.

Economic and Social Impact

These road projects are expected to benefit 17 districts across 15 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan, including major district roads (MDR) and state highways. The improved road network will facilitate smoother transportation, boost trade, tourism, and agriculture, and enhance economic activities. Additionally, the projects will create new employment opportunities, contributing to the state’s overall growth.

Calling the approval a significant gift for Rajasthan, Diya Kumari emphasized the importance of this move in accelerating the state's infrastructure and development. She said the initiative would provide long-term benefits, paving the way for Rajasthan's socio-economic progress.
